Alphington: Local Schools to repaint subway thanks to local Councillor

10.10.00am GMT Sat 2nd Jan 2010

Cllr. Vanessa Newcombe

The pedestrian subway at Alphington Cross has been a regular target for graffiti and is constantly being repainted.

Following discussions with local schools it is hoped a solution has been found to resolve this problem.

Pupils of both Alphington Primary School and West Exe are to be jointly involved in a project to paint these subways.

The idea is for students to 'take ownership' of the sub-ways and discourage graffiti, and make life a little brighter for everyone using it.

The funding of this project has come from Cllr. Vanessa Newcombe's Devon County Council locality budget.
