Exeter Lib Dems call into question Labour's new car park plans

The old bus station site could serve so many much needed purposes - including hosting a market, performance venue, or social housing.

But Labour are taking steps to make it a car park... despite the impending climate crisis and 6 within 500m that have more than enough spare capacity.

The news comes as Exeter City Council sets out plans to hike already high parking charges across the city.

Car parks are one of ECC's few revenue raising powers. Make no mistake, this is a desperate cash grab attempt by Labour following their wasted millions and the new Labour government's refusal to fix funding for councils.

This is not only unimaginative: this is Labour yet again putting their financial woes ahead of the needs of our city.
