Exeter Liberal Democrats quiz leadership candidates

A strong contingent of Exeter Lib Dems attended the regional hustings in Plymouth last night. Norman Lamb and Tim Farron gave bouyant performances to an audience of experienced campaigners and brand new members.

There was a strong focus on Liberal Democrat values and the urgent need for a stronger liberal voice in British politics.

There was a confidence that the recent boost in membership and morale will give the party the opportunity to recover rapidly and re-establish itself as a party of governance in local Councils and at all levels of representation.

There were also some poignant reflections on the life and contributions of Charles Kennedy.

Overall, it was a very stimulating and motivating event which augers well for the future of the party.
